For this project in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, we completed a comprehensive flat roof restoration designed to improve the roof’s durability, waterproofing, and overall performance. Flat roofing systems require careful installation and proper sealing to ensure they can withstand heavy rain, temperature changes, and daily exposure to the elements.
The goal of this project was to reinforce the existing roof surface while addressing vulnerable areas that could allow water intrusion over time.
The restoration began with the installation of new rolled rubber roofing (modified bitumen) over the existing roof surface. Modified bitumen is commonly used for flat roofs because it provides strong waterproof protection and durability in changing weather conditions.
Our team carefully extended the roofing material to the edges of the roof to ensure proper drainage and full coverage.
To strengthen the roofing system, we also installed:
A new cap sheet to reinforce the surface layer
Custom-bent slag stop along the front and back edges of the roof to secure the roofing material and prevent water infiltration
