We completed a comprehensive flat roof restoration designed to improve durability, waterproofing, and overall performance. The project began with installing new rolled rubber roofing (modified bitumen) over the existing surface, carefully extending the material to the roof edges for proper drainage and protection. A new cap sheet was installed to reinforce the system, and custom-bent slag stop was added along the front and back to secure the roofing edges and prevent water intrusion.
All vulnerable areas were addressed, including the installation of flashing where necessary and sealing all seams, pipes, and roof penetrations using roofing cement and fabric tape to ensure a watertight finish.
As part of the structural improvements, we removed and replaced a 4-inch closed eaves box, properly flashing it into the roof system and securely tying it into the existing wall. This helped restore the integrity of the roof edge and improve long-term protection.
To complete the project, we installed a new Philly skylight, including a new curb and proper curb flashing, ensuring a secure installation that enhances natural light while maintaining full weather protection.
This project resulted in a durable, well-sealed roofing system built to perform and protect for years to come.
