Charming Exteriors addressed gaps around the garage door openings and areas where light was visible along the sides of the doors. The project focused on improving the existing weatherseal, sealing openings between the vinyl sheathing and the house, and adding custom-bent aluminum capping to help close exposed gaps and deter rodents.
During the inspection, light was visible along both sides of the garage door, and the existing vinyl weatherseal was found to be too short, with the bottom panel rubber showing signs of weathering.
To address these issues, two new vertical pieces of vinyl weatherseal were recommended, along with caulking to help close gaps and improve the seal around the garage door openings.
Light was also visible in several areas of the basement, with gaps found between the vinyl sheathing and the house. To address the exposed spaces, custom-bent aluminum capping was recommended around the perimeter.
The proposed capping includes a flanged design extending approximately 34 linear feet around the perimeter to help seal open spaces and deter rodents from entering.
