Charming Exteriors installed a Zip-Up under-deck ceiling and drainage system in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, to create a clean, finished ceiling beneath the deck while directing water away from the space below. The project included a new support rail system, ceiling panels, drainage components, and downspout improvements to help manage water runoff.
The installation included the components needed to create a complete under-deck ceiling system. New perimeter and finish trim pieces were installed along with the Zip-Up main support rail system. A new pitched rail system was added to encourage positive drainage, starting approximately 2 inches below the deck structure and tapering to approximately 1/2 inch toward the drainage point.
New Zip-Up ceiling panels were installed throughout the designated under-deck area, with all components secured according to manufacturer-approved features and installation methods.
The new under-deck drainage system was connected to the existing scupper box, allowing water to be directed toward the established drainage path. Necessary penetrations, transitions, and termination points were caulked and sealed where needed to help prevent water intrusion.
The existing downspout and drain line were also checked to verify that the discharge path into the yard was clear and functioning.
The existing exterior downspout section was removed and replaced with approximately 10 linear feet of new downspout, including new elbows and fittings as required. This improvement helped integrate the exterior drainage components with the under-deck system.
After installation, the work area was cleaned and installation-related debris was removed, leaving the space beneath the deck with a more finished appearance and an integrated drainage system.
